Terms of use
Provider and application
The provider is Noel Tim Geldschläger; contact details appear in the legal notice. These terms describe the use of Boocord Boards for iOS, iPadOS, macOS and the web. Self-hosted instances may have additional operator terms, which must be provided separately.
Right to use
You may use the supplied application for personal and professional purposes on your devices. Rights in the software, its name and graphics remain with their respective owners. Licences of bundled open-source components are unaffected. Free use alone grants no exclusive rights or rights to use third-party trademarks.
Your content
Your content remains yours. You grant only the technical permissions required for the features, storage and transfers you request. Use of your content for advertising or AI training is not part of this relationship. You are responsible for holding the necessary rights to content you import and for respecting others’ rights and applicable law.
Storage, sync and backups
You may work with sync disabled. iCloud and self-hosted sync are optional; their availability also depends on networks, accounts and the relevant operator. The web version can sync with native apps through a compatible self-hosted server. Concurrent changes may be retained as separate conflict versions for you to choose between. Export complete backups of important content regularly. Disabling sync does not delete data on other devices or servers. Keep access keys confidential and ask your server operator to revoke lost keys. This guidance does not limit statutory claims for application defects.
Formats and platforms
Boocord backups provide interchange and complete preservation of stored content. General formats such as CSV, Markdown, PNG and PDF represent the portions appropriate to each format. Stylus features depend on the operating system and hardware. Apple Pencil and PencilKit features in this form are available only on supported Apple devices. A browser may preserve proprietary or platform-specific data without providing all editing functions of the original system.
Permitted use
Do not use the application or sync to violate others’ rights, distribute malware, use someone else’s access keys or bypass technical protections without authorisation. Ordinary backup, export and lawful interoperability are not restricted. A service we operate may be proportionately restricted in cases of actual abuse; statutory rights remain unaffected.
Costs, availability and changes
Installing or using this release does not create a paid Boocord subscription. Costs for Apple services, hosting or other providers you engage follow their agreements. Changes introducing payment obligations require a separate agreement. We notify you of material changes where required by law. Statutory duties concerning supply, updates and remediation of defects remain unaffected.
Liability and statutory rights
Statutory liability and warranty rules apply. In particular, these terms do not exclude liability for intent, gross negligence or harm to life, body or health. Mandatory consumer rights, digital-product rights and other mandatory statutory claims are not restricted.
Ending use and contact
You may stop using the app, export data and delete stored content at any time. Uninstalling or clearing browser data does not automatically remove content from iCloud or a sync server. Use the relevant features or contact the operator to delete it there. Contact us at noel@boocord.com with questions.
